Question: Hi I have consulted a Psychiatrist 4 months back (16-May-2018) with following symptoms.

Complaints: Anxiety, irritation, frustration, fear, low energy levels, lack of interest, over planning

As per his advice I have taken medication as follows.

Nexito 5 mg | AB - 0 - AD | For 20 days ((From 16-May to 6-June)
Nexito 10 mg | 0 - 0 - AD | For 15 days (From 7-June to 21-June)
Nexito 20 mg | 0 - 0 - AD | For 15 days (From 22-June to 10-Jul)

I tried to reach him on 10-Jul but he was not available. I have stopped medication on 20-Jul and haven’t taken anything after that.

All of a sudden last 10 days (nearly from 1-Aug) I started feeling slight dizziness throughout the day and it’s still continuing.

My questions:

Is dizziness because of sudden stoppage of medication?
Should I continue the medication? If yes, what dosage?

Please advise next steps.

Brief Answer:
The dizziness is probably due to anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Coming to your doubts-

The dizziness is not due to sudden stoppage of medicine. You stopped the drug 20 days back and usually withdrawal symptoms are seen in first week of stopping the drug. So these are not withdrawal symptoms.

The dizziness and other symptoms you are having are probably due to relapse of anxiety. If the anxiety symptoms are persistent then better to restart the medicine again. You can start with low dose and can gradually escalate the dose again. Talk to your doctor once he is available.

Thanks.
