Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Diarrhea can be due to viral or bacterial infection of the gut. Though viral infection is more common and resolves easily, bacterial infection is also possible. The most common bacterial infections can be due to salmonella or shigella though others can also occur.
Based on the presence of blood, it is possible that you may have a bacterial infection. This is more likely to present with blood.
Bacterial infections may require assessment by a doctor because they tend to be more severe and in some persons (though only a few) antibiotics are needed to treat the infections.
In many persons, replacing the fluids and electrolytes is enough.
You need to replace all the fluids and electrolytes that you are losing . Use oral hydration products for diarrhea.
In addition, use probiotics to help shorten the course of the diarrhea. These can be used either on their own or you can use yogurts with probiotics
Hold off any solid food till there is a 4 hour period with no diarrhea. When this 4 hour span occurs, use dry foods first (toast, plain rice, biscuits).
If there is any worsening or you feel very unwell then you should be seen as soon as possible
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
