Question: I have difficulty swallowing at times. Sometimes food will get stuck and I have to force water down and swallow hard to get the food to go down. It seams to be getting worse. I am otherwise in good health 5'8" 160 lbs exercise regularly 61 years old

Hii. You are having some pathological conditionscdue to which food us stuck in the throat. You have to consult first with an Ent surgeon Get an endoscopy of the larynx done. If it shows no pathology then you have to do a barium swallow x ray and a gastroscopy. Gastroscopy is an endoscopy to see the food pipe. If any pathology seen causing the obstruction then you have to plan accordingly. There are many causes. It may be due to any mass obstructing the passage of food. Sometimes acid reflux from stomach can lead to similar symptoms. In that case you have to take omeprazole tablet. Please review with above endoscopy.
