The pearly white layer that you can see though your ear when you flash light is the ear drum, since you complain of pain I would recommend an ENT opinion for detailed examination to rule out any infection until then avoid using ear buds and avoid water entering your ears during bath as it may aggravate the condition. You could take an Over the counter painkiller such as paracetamol to ease the pain .
