Question : I have had a fever for about a week. I don't have much in the way of other symptoms, maybe some slight congestions. I'm really, really worried its a sign of cancer or another serious illnes.

                                    Brief Answer:
Unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but fever alone is not suggestive of cancer unless accompanied by rapid weight loss or progressive weakness.. However, fever is probably a sign of an infection which could commonly is bacterial or viral.. I would recommend that you get a urine and a stool analysis to exclude the most common causes of fever which are UTI and gastroenteritis. I hope you find this helpful
