I Have Had A Itchy Rash On My Lower Back

Question: I have had a itchy rash on my lower back and in the top part of the crack of my buttocks. I went to a doctor twice. The first one gave me Diflucan and the follow up visit I got prescribed a fungus/cortisone cream. Which was working but only had two refills. It subsided but came back but not as bad. Do you know what this is and what I can use to get rid of it?
Brief Answer:
Oral antifungal treatment for repeated fungal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think this is a fungal infection taking count that it gets better with antifungal creams.
It is a recurrent fungal infection since it is repeated several times and not cured properly.
I would suggest you to use oral antifungals to cure it. I would suggest you to use itraconazole 200 mg orally for two weeks.
Also wash skin with gentle soap and dry it properly.
Wear cotton made and loose clothes.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

do you know if there is a over the counter version of Itraconazole 200 mg or a homeopathic version?
Brief Answer:
Itraconazole is not found as over the counter(OTC).
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I don't think there is a version of Itraconazole OTC.
Also, medically speaking, there isn't any homoeopathic alternative to Itraconazole that can help you actually at this point.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
