Question : I have had a throat irritation for about 3-4 weeks now and it doesn't seem to want to clear up. It seems to be right around my XXXXXXX apple and up around to my glands beside my chin. My throat isn't sore and my nose isn't stuffed up it's just sort of a dryness and a white/light green mucus although not heavy. Had a few increased headaches as well. Could it be a bacterial infection of some sort?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. It's evident from your symptoms that you are having pharyngitis and acid reflux. This pharyngitis is mostly due to allergic inflammation. Sometimes it may caused by any bacterial infection. Acid reflux from stomach can also lead to similar symptoms. You can send a throat swab for culture and sensitivity to know whether there is any infection. Start betadine gargle. Take antiallergic tablet levocetrizine to decrease the inflammation. You can start omeprazole tablet to decrease acid reflux. Avoid spicy food, excessive tea, coffee. Drink plenty of water. Take warm liquids. Lead healthy lifestyle. It will take at least 1 week to resolve the symptoms and if needed we have to add antibiotic according to sensitivity report.
