Question : Hi, I've had abdominal cramping for the past week and it has not been getting better. At most times, it feels impossible to pass gas until bedtime. As far as bowel movements, I will have a very small bowel movement in the morning when I wake up and it will be diarrhea. I have been trying antacids and Tylenol and it doesn't seem to improve symptoms. I was wondering if this sounds urgent and what It could be

Hello,
I am sorry to hear about this. How often do you have diarrhea a day? Any bloody stool? Any constipation? Any fever? Do you eat anything wrong that can cause you diarrhea? You should see a doctor if you have diarrhea for more than 3 days or fever, bloody stool, diarrhea more than 6 times a day, has a sign of dehydration (dizziness, weakness, tired, dry mouth and tongue, muscle cramp, confusion, urine very yellow and not needing to urinate for more than 5 hours). To treat diarrhea you need to find the causes. In the meantime, you can drink an Oral rehydration solution. If you have constipation it is also because you have small stool and diarrhea with abdominal pain, you should drink a lot of water from 2,5liters to 3 liters a day and eat fiber food with a lot of vegetables and fruits.
