GERD symptoms after surgery can occur. We usually prescribe acid reducing agents like Omeprazole to address this issue. The symptoms subside with the use of this medication after few days. But in case of repeated reccurrance esophageal function test need to be performed.
Bad taste is a symptom of GERD, but after surgery, it is less likely to persist. But few patients do complain of this. Vitamin c tablet for a month should be helpful.
For change in bowel habit, presently I would suggest you take more vegetable based diet, more fibres and less meat will be helpful. Keep yourself adequately hydrated and over the counter probiotics can be helpful.
