Question : I have had mild diarrhea for the last three days. I am now finding it hard to sleep because the back of my legs are sore. Are these two things connected? I have endeavored to stay hydrated.

                                    Brief Answer:
Probably an issue of lower spine.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service. I read your query and here is my advice.
If it was a simple gastroenteritis there is no reason for back of legs to be sore.
Does the diarrhoea still continue or is worse?
Do you feel numbness too?
If your diarrhoea is worse and difficult to control together with numbness in back of legs this may be a sign of lower back issues.
You may need to do an x-ray of lower spine to check it's conditions.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
If you have no numbness then mild pain may be caused by long time sitting in toilet.
Drinking orange juice is not a good idea.
You better eat toasted bread with white cheese, crackers and sticks. Drink water or eat soups. Eat yoghurt. Also don't eat too much fiber rich foods or bread, not too much fruits.
You can use loperamide ( to stop diarrhoea) and enterogermina to reestablish the intestinal flora.
