I Have Had Pain In My Left Testicle Since Feb

Posted on Tue, 14 Jul 2020
Question: I have had pain in my left testicle since Feb 2020. This pain only occurs when touching the testicle very lightly or moving the testicle around. It does not seem to occur generally unless i touch the testicle in some way. aggravating this area by touching it causes pain to radiate through my left groin and lower back which subsides after a few minutes, it feels as though i am pinching a nerve when i touch the top part of the testicle. The pain has worsened over the last few months with the testicle being more sensitive and the pain radiating further down my leg. Again, this only occurs when it has been touched in some way.

I saw a doctor about this in Feb and took a test for Chlamydia as they suspected this was orchitis or epididymitis, the test has come back negative and I have no other symptoms other than this pain, no symptoms with the penis, urinating etc. There is slight tenderness after ejaculation. Physically the doctor could not find anything abnormal when examining my testicles.
I have not been able to visit the doctor since due to covid and I'm unclear as to whether this is urgent as the pain is not constant. Their initial recommendation was potentially taking antibiotics for the orchitis issue but they were not willing to prescribe these on my first visit as I still do not have many of the symptoms.

Brief Answer:
I understand that it is covid that is the obstruction for you to go to see your doctor back but I would like to encourage you if this pain is bothering you, you should see your doctor soon. I suppose that your doctor may give you antibiotic infection. But if the trial of antibiotic not improve the surgical problem maybe need to rule out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. I have read your chief complaint and Hope I can be of help for you today. Through reading your query I understand that you have been pain on your testicular with radiation pain to your groin and back and frustrated that it can not be diagnosed and treated yet. If specific diagnosis is not evident on physical examination, a testicle ultrasound should be performed. There are many differential diagnosis to this kind of pain. Some are urgent and some are not urgent depend on the onset of pain. I saw you did test only for chlamydia and how about gonorrhea? You may need to give me more of your history if you are high risk for STI( sexual transmitted infection)? If this pain is bothering you, you may need to have a STI presumptive treatment including your partner. If it is start to have an acute strong pain, seeking a doctor at your area as soon as possible.
