Question : I have had pain that started in the back of my head and has now moved down my neck and around to the front area of my neck. It is so sensitive that I can't stand anything even touching it. It started about 10 days ago. I don't have a rash but the area is a little red. Does this sound like shingles?
Brief Answer:
It may be shingles.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.
I have read your query and here is my advice.
Yes, it may be shingles, because of the symptoms and skin redness.
Other cutaneous elements of shingles usually require more than 10 days to appear.
However, you should be examined by your Doctor in order to confirm this possibility.
In case of shingles confirmation, you should start being treated with antineuralgic drugs, wet dressing with Burrow solution, etc.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
