Question : I have had right side pains under my breasts down the side and they are getting worse. I can't lay on that side. been going on for 5 days and I'm breathing hard. Had my gallbladder removed 2 yrs ago and a hernia a year ago.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to costochondritis. It is an inflammation of the rib cage cartilage between the ribs and sternum.

I would suggest doing the following examinations to exclude other possible causes:

-A chest X-ray and an electrocardiogram (EKG)

Meanwhile, I recommend using painkillers such as Acetaminophen/Tylenol 500 mg three tablets a day.

Alternate Heat and ice compresses can also be very helpful.

If the symptoms persist despite this, you may need a stronger prescription based painkiller for which I'd suggest discussing with your doctor.
