I Have Health Anxiety I Noticed A Whitish Ridge Of Skin Near The Back Opening Of My Vagina.

Question: Hello! I have health anxiety and I noticed a whitish ridge of skin near the back opening of my vagina. I’ve attached an image with the area circled. I only noticed it because I was doing a skin check on myself. I was last at the gynecologist seven months ago. The area does not itch or bleed at all and it is not hard. The reddish area is just irritation from poking with my fingernails. Do you know what it may be? I’m terrified it could be cancer if the vulva...
Brief Answer:
Scar from episiotomy
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and viewed the image.
I think it is an episiotomy scar. Scars are usually white as they are avascular
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Hi Dr. Kakkar! Thank you so much for your
Answer! I’m actually attaching another image which I took today...oddly enough I had a hard time finding the same area which I circled yesterday, but on this newer picture I did circle another area....do you have any idea what that may be? The red irritation and bit of blood is definitely just from my prodding at the area. It’s hard because I think most women don’t know exactly how it appears down below. I going to call to make an appt with my gynecologist just to play it safe...
Thank you again!

Brief Answer:
nothing worrisome
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you.
The circled area doesn't look like anything concerning. In the second image it rather looks like normal skin in that area. Perhaps just a color variation.
Take care
