Question: I have osteoarthritis and a completely macerated lateral meniscus . I had a PRP injection on July 3. I am scheduled for TKR on aug 19. My blood work up came back and everything was fine except:
WBC. 11.6
SED rate 36.1
cRP 11.1
Are these levels consistent with the injection and my arthritis. Will they postpone surgery?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to the arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The increased levels of CRP and WBCs and ESR are suggestive of an inflammatory process. This can be related to the chronic inflammation due to osteoarthritis. Your surgery is not likely to be postponed because of these readings. There is no need to worry.
I hope this answers your query.
