Question : I have pain in the middle of my chest that feels like waves of muscle spasms with a 1-2 sec sharp pain. I have acid reflux and usually it goes away with Pepcid and/or tums. It's been off and on for the past 8 hours and the medicine has helped but it's still happening.

Hi
Symptoms that you have mentioned can be due to Acid reflux or Heart disease.
I prescribe Proton pump inhibitor like Rabeprazole along with Domperidone to my patients with similar complaints.
If there is no response,I will get an Upper GI endoscopy.
If it is normal,then investigations like ECG, ECHOCARDIOGRAM should be done to exclude Heart disease.
Please consult a Doctor and proceed further
