Hello ,

This type of pain may originate from upper cervical nerves as they get pinched during the pathway.

Wearing a soft cervical collar for few days and using simple painkillers such s ibuprofen should improve it.

Heat pads on the neck also should result in relief.

If no improvement in few days with such measures then you should see your Doctor and you should get examined by imaging studies too for a correct diagnosis ( head and neck MRI ).
