Question : I have sero negative rheumatoid arthritis. if it weren't for that , I would feel like I was in perfect health, like I was 30 years ago. it seems to have accelerated very quickly in the past 3 years. I can't even close my hands in the morning. I'm losing a lot of dexterity and my grip is very weak. Also my fingers are ugly and they are turning in. I will not take anything to mess with my immune system. up until a few years ago, I just had osteoporosis arthritis probably from heredity and mostly wear and tear.my question is , what foods should I avoid for inflammation, or what foods and supplements should I eat and take, it's really bad, it's the worst part of my life, I have to say. Please help. I'll take anything if it will help

                                    Brief Answer:
Minimal improvement
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, I have gone through your question in detail...
I can understand your concerns but unfortunately, diet and supplements will have very little effect on rheumatoid arthritis and it’s progression...
However, some foods have an anti-inflammatory effect (although minimal) including fruits, vegetables, olive oil, and whole grains...
So, I would recommend that you try to eat mostly fruits and vegetables and healthy, whole grains, beans and lentils.
You should also avoid processed foods like meats or foods with chemical preservatives and reduce consumption of refined sugars.
I hope you find this helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards

That answer is very disappointing to me.so then I would rather just take pain meds and get through my day. I take tramadol because although meds like alive and Advil work great, they tear up my stomach, even though I take it with a FULL stomach, it still gives me awful pains in my gut, so I only take it when I feel desperate for relief. So how about if I take something like mylanta first to coat my stomach? do you think that would work? With alive or Advil?

                                    Brief Answer:
Yes it would help
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello gain. taking mylanta will decrease the irritating effect of pain killers on the gastric mucosa. However I would strongly recommend that you start taking corticosteroids and methotrexate in order to avoid the deforming progress of the disease in your small joints of the hands and feet. I hope you find this helpful
