I Have Severe Allergies ( Sneezing And Dripping Nose) But

Question: I have severe allergies (sneezing and dripping nose) but they have been treated effectively for many years with 1 Benadryl at night, 1 Loratadine, in the morning and 2 Flonase sprays/nostril each morning. This winter, my nose and eyes have been dry. A few weeks ago, I decreased the Loratadine to half the dose (the children's chewable). I think that has helped the eyes, but my nose is really dry and slightly bloody now. I haven't taken the Flonase in about 3 days because my spray is empty. Is it OK to temporarily stop the Flonase "cold turkey" even after years of use? I've already gone about 3 days. Can I go a week or 2 without it and see what happens? My allergies have been OK other than occasional sneezing. I'm worried I could get a bad rebound effect, though, but I don't want to keep taking the Flonase because my nose is dry and slightly bloody. Thanks for your help.
Brief Answer:
No, you should not stop it suddenly.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should not stop flonase nasal spray, cold turkey (all of a sudden).
This will definitely have bad effects.
Better to reduce to one puff daily for 2 weeks then stop.
If possible, start one puff daily for 2 weeks then stop.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
