Question : I have severe itching in many places all over my upper body. Several weeks ago, I took oral steroids for five days. The symptoms subsided almost completely, but then returned a few days later. I have been trying body lotion after showering and at night to no avail.

You seem to have xerosis/ dryness of skin. It can be extremely itchy. I suggest you to continue to regularly moisturize your skin. In addition I suggest you to take an oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg tablet once a day for a few days for symptomatic relief from itching.
