Question : I have severe swelling of my left elbow and down to my hand. not much pain just limits movement somewhat and numbness in my hand.I first noticed a problem when placing my elbow an a hard surface it felt like I had hit something and I could put my finger on the spot. Swelling has increased to the point I am concerned that my skin will rupture. For several days it was leaking a clear fluid from my pores.I have been to three doctors and it a Hospital emergency. No help yet and I am very concerned. Please, any ideas.

Brief Answer:
A chronic infection likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling of the elbow and hand with pain and watery discharge suggests a low grade chronic infection. The infection is not responding to clindamycin that you are taking currently.
This needs a proper examination, X-ray to rule out a bone infection, a culture sensitivity of the fluid to find out the antibiotic that is best suitable for you.
Do attend an ER or consult an orthopedician for a proper treatment.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
May need a biopsy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
A mass below the joint is a worrisome finding. You need a biopsy to find out the type of mass and its further treatment. You can upload the reports for a better evaluation.
Hope my answer is helpful.
