Question : I have sustained high cortisol levels.
In October I had a blood test to check cortisol levels as well as other things to investigate possible causes of feeling constantly stressed and anxious - despite having very few stressors in my life and actively trying to engage in relaxing actives as much as I can.
My cortisol levels are as follows:
October 2018 - 570 nmol/L XXXXXXX 2019 - 580 nmol/L
The pathology company suggested I might want to get tested for "Cushing Syndrome", however I do not have any of the major symptoms associated with Cushings.
Are these cortisol levels of major concern and indicative of Cushings?

Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that these cholesterol blood levels are high.
Anyway, they do not necessarily indicate Cushing.
I would recommend performing dexamethasone test to help investigate for Cushing and check also ACTH plasma levels.
A surenal gland MRI( abdominal MRI) is necessary to examine the surenal glands which are the main source of cortisol production in our body.
You should discuss with your Doctor on the above tests.
Hope you will find this information helpful!
