Question : as below female with tender swollen mastoid and on exam normal ear and no swollen nodes and no fever
Brief Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. Your mastoid is tender and swollen
Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. Your mastoid is tender and swollen. It seems that you are having some ear infection preferably bacterial. It has involved the middle part of ear and mastoid bone. Mastoid bone contains air cells which gets absorbed and infected. So you can do a x ray mastoid bone and send us. Take levocetrizine tablet at bedtime to decrease inflammation. Start antibiotic amoxycillin twice daily for 5 days. Avoid entry of water in the ear. You can consult an ent surgeon if the pain does not resolve within 2-3 week. Please review if you have any queries.
