Brief Answer:
bowel issues may or may not be related to spine surgery.need details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the chronic back pain after spine surgery may be
related to ligament spasm, osteoporosis or others.
* Constipation or urge to defecate can be nerve compression, bowel motility related or
other issues.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Pain - location over back, radiation if anywhere, relation with particular working or not
2. Bowel movements are hard or soft, associated with burning anal region or not.
3. When was last MRI, colonoscopy performed, if available kindly provide reports.

Awaiting for your response.
Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

* The lower back discomfort seems not to be related to bowel movement urge, which can be colon motility, fiber deficiency or other issues.

* And as the discomfort gets better as the day progress , again favor possible ligament spasm at the wake up time.

* My guidelines at present for the same

- Drink more liquids.
- Consume high fiber diet with more of green leafy veg, whole grains, cereals, pulses,
legumes, organic fresh fruits.
- Increase probiotic intake in form of fresh yogurt to support the intestines.

- Assisted physiotherapy with an expert for a period of 7 - 10 days for back issue.
- Local application of analgesic spray or ointment as per the need.
- Analgesic intake in case of pain score above 5 only.

- Avoid sudden bending or weight lifting.
- Keep blood sugar, body weight under control.

Hope this will help you to understand the issue.
Wish you fine health ahead.
Thanks.
