Question : I have uncontrollable explosive diarrhea after eating. Thus has been ongoing fir about 4 months and is getting worse, I do not have a gallbladder. My pro thinks I may have IBS and prescribed Choylestermine and Levsin, which help sone but cobstoTe me and give me horrible gas and rumbling bowel sounds. Stool tests before scopies

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion, before proceding for endoscopy or colonoscopy, we should do a complete stool analysis that includes stool ova and cysts, stool culture and sensitivity. Also a blood culture and sensitivity, tests for typhoid and cholera are needed. These will help rule out a bacterial, parasitic and amoebic infection.

In absence of gall bladder, fatty foods can also cause diarhea and bloating. We need to follow the diatary routine recommended after gall bladder removal.

Meanwhile you can take your precaution by excluding foods that exacerbate diarhea, include thick foods, avoid unnecessary antibiotics, drink cleaner water with low TDS.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
