Question : I think I might have a concussion. I hit my really hard two nights ago and had a headache all of yesterday. I was drinking the night I hit my head and only got 3 hours of sleep that night. I played golf the next day and had a mild headache the whole day. I haven’t had one today but it hurts to touch where I hit my head as if their was a very big bruise.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details and it is suggestive of mild head injury- most likely soft tissue injury affecting scalp (could be a scalp hematoma). You need symptomatic treatment to relieve pain (and inflammation) with medicines such as naproxen tablet.

As of now, there are no symptoms of concussion.
If headache persists or worsens, a brain CT scan may be done.
