Question : I just came back from the Domincan Republic yesterday and got some sunburn. I noticed on my legs I have flat red tiny dots that turn white when I touch them. I looked up what they may be and I believe they are called Petechia. They almost looked as if I am not getting enough circulation I have gotten them once before when I got too much sun. Is this something I should be concerned about?

                                    Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction to sun or insect bite reaction, nothing to worry about
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query.
It could be an allergic reaction to sun or some insect bite hypersensitivity reaction.
There is nothing to worry about.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and regular application of a sunscreen lotion on the entire sun exposed areas 2-3 times during the day time.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
