Question : I just had a baby on the 31st vaginal no complications, but now I am getting extremely sharp pains in the left side of my abdomen when I lay down or sit for too long, my whole left side from ribs down goes completely numb to touch and then I get shooting pain from my lower back down to my feet to where it hurts to much to move. Pain hits at a 8/10 with any movement including coughing or laughing.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like a lumbar issue

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I am glad to hear all went well with giving birth.

The pain you describe in conjunction with recent labor makes me suspect a locked facet joints in your lumbar spine. The best way to treat this is by the chiropractor. It doesn't sound like anything too serious, though a thorough examination is always better for further assessment.

Hope this helps.
