Question : I just had a very fine spray of blood from my lateral ankle. There is some swelling there . I did have my compression socks on all day and I’m on Xarelto.
It lasted about 4 minutes.
Thoughts ?

I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, when the consumption of Rivaroxaban ( Xarelto ) is
going on and there is spray of blood from ankle, possible alteration in clotting
parameters must be addressed.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Swelling - extent, any overlying skin changes in form of warmth, color ?
2. Any punctate wound visible over the area ?

Till that time, ice pack application and elevation of the concerned leg over 2-3 pillows would be best initial measure.

Not a question- there is an amount of swelling due to the weather we’ve been experiencing.
Skin and body temp normal . I do think there is a small
puncture wound
