Question : I just had some blood work done, and while most of the report looks good, one value came back very high. My Complement C4a was 1797, where the normal range according to this lab is 0-650. What could that mean?

Hello,

complement assays are only ordered to demonstrate low levels of various complement components, which may indicate various autoimmune disorders. Elevation of complement components may only indicate "inflammation" and is clinically useless...
