Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that
levocardia means left-sided cardiac apex and is the opposite of dextrocardia. Levocardia means that the heart is in the normal position, but situs inversus means that all the other abdominal organs are on the opposite side, compared to normal persons.
You should know that Levocardia with abdominal situs inversus is extremely rare. This is also known as isolated levocardia and is almost always associated with severe forms of congenital heart defects.
For this reason, even though the heart seems to be overall OK, we can not know how it will work after birth. Surgery may be needed.
From the other hand, abdominal situs inversus may be asymptomatic ( no problems), but sometimes, malformations affecting the bowel may be present, which may be diagnosed after birth and may need surgery.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Hope you will find this information helpful!
