Question : I recently got an industrial piercing and I ended up hitting the piercing. A bump formed at the top of the industrial and i think it got bigger. Its hot to the touch, I don't know what else to do. The industrial piercing was obtained three weeks ago and I have no allegric reaction to the surgical steel used.

Your piercing site seems to be infected.

I would recommend you to take oral antibiotic like tablet Cephalexin 500 mg twice daily for 5 -7 days and apply Neosporin ointment on the affected area twice daily for 5-7 days. Antibiotics are prescription based medications.

Will the Neosporin cause any irritation on the piercing site? Also, what should I do for the swelling? Anything in particular?

Neosporin won’t cause irritation, take anti inflammatory medicine

Neosporin won’t cause any irritation on the piercing site.
For the swelling you can take anti inflammatory medicines like tablet ibuprofen.
If possible go for a short course of oral antibiotic like tablet cephalexin 500 mg twice daily for 5-7 days.
This will cause faster resolution.
