Question : Looking for a second opinion. I saw a ENT specialist last month for a white spots on left tonsil. Present since late spring (could be before but didn't notice). Not painful. Started with one, I think it got a bit smaller. I thought it was a stone but whatever it is, it doesn't move or wipe off. The ENT Dr told me it wasn't a stone and not to worry, it could be from a previous viral infection. I had a flu shot December 2019 and got sick with flu (or Covid-19?) last week of January, had pneumonia. that's the only viral infection I had. Took antibiotics. Seeing ENT again next week follow up but noticed there are 3 white spots now. I was treated for H-Pylori in October and took clarythromycin and metronadozole, infection now clear.
Brief Answer:
Hi. Welcome to the healthcare services. It looks like you are having tonsill
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Welcome to the healthcare services. It looks like you are having tonsillar keratosis. This is due to chronic inflammation as a result of repeated infection. Due to enlarged tonsillar crypts food get accumulated and cause repeated inflammation. This can lead to tonsillar keratosis also. Start betadine or warm saline gargle for 3 week.If it doesn't get removed or you are having foul smell breath then you can get your tonsil removed . Please review if you have any queries.
