Question : So I have been having issues with random mild stomach pain over the last three days kinda spans across the mid section of my abdomen. I have a feeling like a need to use the bathroom but I can’t and when I try and do it’s a small amount of fecal matter usually in diarrhea form really watery. I’m pretty active but I am just a tad over weight. I have a bit of gas here and there. Just wondering if I should be worried or what should cause this?

                                    Brief Answer:
Gastroenteritis possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Using antiacids such as Pepto and stool softeners can cause diarrhea and stomach pain.
I think this could be the main cause of your symptoms.
Stopping laxatives, stool softeners are necessary. Also if possible reduce the Pepto Bismol dosage.
Another possible cause is the gastrointestinal tract infection.
You can use loperamide or simethicone for diarrhea (available over the counter).
Remember to remain well hydrated by having more water and fluids.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
