Question: I started coming off oxycodone as my pain medication 27 days ago, I think I am thru the physical withdrawal symptoms, but I did it with CBD oil 1500mg drops morn and eve. I take several psychiatric medications (for I have Bipolar 1, Anxiety-SAD), such as Topiramate, Zoloft, Risperidone, Nortriptyline, and then there is Lyrica for neuropathy pain of Fibromyalgia, Librax for IBS-D. For the last three weeks I have had constant anger, immediate quick temper, repetitive thoughts, repetitive mouth, lip and tongue movements. Side-effects of what? I don't know what the CBD is causing to build up on me?

Brief Answer:
Counseling can help

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns and also understand that CBD (cannabidiol) being a psychoactive drug provides you with relief. As you mention, you are having psychological disturbances including bouts of anger. This could call for dose adjustment or change of the ongoing medication. I do not think it to be due to build up of CBD or anything else.

But let me tell you that the body and mind are inter-related. Physical complaints, therefore, yield an unrest of the mind and vice versa. Sensations can be subjective. Sensations or discomforts do not always have a physical or organic cause but that does not mean that the complaint or discomfort is unreal or does not exist. However, dealing with such problems needs training of the mind and not merely treating for the physical ailment. You might know that the pain threshold of army men are much higher than that of a common man and this is achieved by training the mind. You too would need to train your mind to ignore the itchiness and crawling sensation that you experience. You need to visit a psychologist who would be able to administer psychotherapy which could ease you of your problems.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

First, Cannabidiol has 85 components, two of those are THC (psychoactive), and CBD (not psychoactive) are well known by most people in medicine. You, sir, have confused the two. I do not. I use CBD oil and pain rub alone.

I request a new answer to my question by a medico that is familiar with the two and the effects of CBD as you obviously are not.

Thank you. I await impatiently! With short temper, high anger, no itching (that is your imagination, sir!), repetitive thoughts strains, repetitive lip and tongue movements under stress!
