default
Posted on Fri, 2 Nov 2018
Question: I started having tingling in my left arm from shoulder to tips of my fingers almost like my arm has fallen asleep now experiencing same but not as severe in right arm. I have semi high cholesterol and triglycerides but not high enough to warrant medication. i maintain a heathly diet with no fried foods or high fatty foods so I feel the issue is genetic. i have no pain or pressure in my chest but I have never experienced this type of feelings in my arms before. should I be concerned and seek medical attention now or wait until Monday when my PCP's office is open.

Brief Answer:
Cervical spine conditions to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

Symptoms you describe point most likely to spinal cord and/ or nerves involvement.

In my opinion, conditions such as cervical spine spondylosis, herniated disc disease, etc. may be considered and evaluated further.

I suggest you to discuss with your Doctor for these issues and further evaluation.

Neurological exam insane imaging evaluation of your cervical spine with x-rays and MRI are necessary to achieve a correct diagnosis.

Treatment depends on the diagnosis.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
