Question : I suffer from acid reflux and this morning I woke up and my tongue was coated with a black substance

Basically reflux of acid causes change in Ph of the mouth this causes color change in tongue.Secondly the outer lining of tongue is very sensitive regular acid irritation may lead to change in mucosal cells nature.
Some time these changes are called hairy tongue.
Can you just forward a photo graph of the tongue. I want to see if its hairy tongue or whats the intensity of problem.
