Question : I take Flecainide to prevent a-fib. I'm scheduled for Y-90 treatment; the doctor performing it has prescribed 21 days of Moxifloxacin to minimize the chance of infection. My pharmacist says the two drugs interact, increasing the risk of arhythmia. What are some alternative antibiotics?
Penicillin gives me stomach pain, but I don't get the classic penicillin rash, and it may not be a proper allergy.
Thank you. XXXXXXX Guthrie

Hello Ma’am
After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern and I would like to tell you that yes Flecanide does have interaction with Moxifloxacin resulting in prolonged qt interval. If these two has to be given the it requires close ecg monitoring.
Alternatively you can take Azithromycin but I would suggest you to discuss it personally with your treating doctor. Because anyways you will be requiring a written prescription to get Antibiotics.
Hope to have been helpful.
Kind Regards
