Question : I took a fall last week. I went to urgent care and the doctor there said it was a small fracture in my forearm, she wrapped it in a bandage and told me to follow up with an ortho. The ortho could not get me in until what will be a week after the injury. Is this normal? At this point I am going about business as usual ( with the bandage). Is it possible I will still need a cast? Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Cast is necessary...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is important to perfectly immobilize limb if there is a fracture even if the fracture is tiny. So yes, casting the limb is necessary. If your regular doctor is unavailable I will suggest to visit ER and get the cast done.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
