                                    Brief Answer:
You should be investigated
Detailed Answer:
Hi
First of all,the cause for the edema of legs should be investigated.Whether it is due to Kidney or Liver or Heart problem or any other cause.
Treatment depends on the cause.
With routine diuretics, sometimes there will be Potassium loss leading to muscle pain and cramps. So, potassium sparing diuretic should be used.
Simple drinking water will not be sufficient if you are dehydrated. You should take Intravenous fluids which have Sodium, Potassium, Calcium (Ringer lactate solution).
What is your doctor's opinion?
In my view, you should get admitted and investigated.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
