Question : I took two pregnancy tests, one of negative and the other was positive, but now I’m on my period. Why would one test be positive?
Brief Answer:
may be related to the test itself
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Pregnancy tests can be false positive like all tests. This means that a result can give a positive result but it is actually a negative (falsely positive).
Some of the causes of false positive results include: (1) side effect of medications eg hormonal medications, diuretics, antihistamines, anti convulsants (meds for seizures), anxiety medication
(2)error reading the strip/or error with the strip (test) itself or evaporation line appearing on the strip
(3)recent miscarriage
It is possible that the issue is with the test itself.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
