I Ve Had A Weight Loss Of Around 30 Pounds
Significant weight loss/dizziness under evaluation with APD
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome to Ask a doctor.
Dizziness is the feeling of being lightheaded and unbalanced which affects the sensory organs, specifically the eyes and ears so it can sometimes cause fainting.
Dizziness isn’t a disease, but rather a symptom of various disorders.Treatment for dizziness focuses on the underlying cause.
Commonest cause of it is ear infection- labrynthitis and maniere's disease which are managed by medications and antibiotics low salt diet and anti vertigo injections.
Second commonest cause is increased blood pressure(hypertension) or decreased blood sugar level(diabetes and hyperglycaemia)
Other causes include dehydration and anxiety which are managed by well hydration and drinking plenty of fluids and anti anxiety medications.
Please let me know if you are hypertensive, diabetic or you have procured your hemoglobin(to rule out anemia),serum vitamin B12 (to rule out deficiency)and thyroid levels? This will help me to evaluate you fully.Take a commercially available multivitamin supplement, preferably with Ginseng.
At times, dizziness is caused by central conditions like MS(Multiple sclerosis) and local ischemia which can be evaluated by a brain scan
According to your symptoms you may be suffering from gastritis and abdominal infection and inflammation of stomach. This is cause of hyper acidity and flatulence.Have small meal at night and at least 2 hrs prior to sleeping.Avoid junk and fatty meals.Avoid gassy food.Have plentiful water.Go for a 20 minute walk after dinner and be physically active.Avoid tea, coffee, spices and alcohol.
Abdominal infection and inflammation can lower down the absorption of vitamin B12 and iron causing deficiencies and hence weakness, lethargy, easy fatigue, malaise and disorientation.
You can have PPI like Pantoprazole too.
As far your weight loss is concerned,it is really significant and needs evaluation.
A significant weight loss can be due to multiple causes like chronic diseases, infections, tuberculosis, malabsoption syndrome,Peptic ulcer, thyroid disorders, dementia,Parkinsonism,Bipolar and Depression,Heart failure,Diabetes, malignancy,HIV etc. This needs a detailed work up and please consult your clinician.
Hope that I have answered your query. If there are any doubts, please let me know.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
