Causes before birth :
It may be caused by an infection in the mother during pregnancy, such as rubella or mumps, or a birth defect, such as spina bifida.
Causes after birth :
It can develop after a stroke, brain tumor, meningitis, or as a result of a serious head injury.
Hydrocephalus is extra collection of CSF in the brain due to these causes.

Yes chickenpox in pregnancy can lead to hydrocephalus in baby.. But this is very very rare.. Only a few cases are reported till now.
