Question : I was awakened this morning at 4:40 am with severe abdominal cramps, feeling like a had to go to the bathroom but couldn't. I ended up having a severe bout of diarrhea. Went back to bed and continue with the severe cramping. I continue to feel like I'm going to have diarrhea again but don't and also have vomitted. It might also look like a faint hint of light blood. Not sure what to do
I'm still experiencing the bad cramps, it has gone from severe to pretty bad. No further diarrhea yet. Not taking any food just Gatorade. Feeling horrible, and very weak.
I keep feeling as if I'm going to have diarrhea and have just small episodes.
I'm also feeling chilled.
I'm also feeling chilled.
Brief Answer:
Acute gastroenteritis....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
From what you described you've had abdominal cramps, vomiting and loose stool. The symptoms are consistent with acute gastroenteritis where the cause is an infection.
Does anyone else in the family suffer from similar symptoms?
Did you eat anywhere out of your kitchen?
I would consider starting antibiotic / antihelminthic drug along with antispasmodic drugs. Since you cannot obtain these drugs without a prescription, I would consider visiting a doctor right away.
In the meanwhile continue gatorade after every stools. Probiotics either natural (yoghurt) or supplemental VSL#3 will also help you.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
