I Was Diagnosed With Obstipation On Monday . I Did

Question: I was diagnosed with obstipation on Monday . I did a colonoscopy type cleanse on Tuesday per dr orders. Since then my colon has been very irritated and painful. CT scan shows no issues and the X-ray showed the obstipation and no other issues. Any suggestions on how long this might continue or what I can do to ease it?
Mostly on right side, I don’t have an appendix. Feels like still cramping but it’s been 5 days.

Brief Answer:
Common after colonoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Well, these symptoms are not unusual after colonoscopy especially if there was intensive air insulation so it may take week or 2 till it improves.
Most frightened complication of colonoscopy is perforation, but you would have some other signs such as fever, bloon in stool and rtg would detect it. So you should just be patient, have liquid diet, probiotics, psilijum Fibres and avoid fried and spicy food. Wish you good health. Regards

Brief Answer:
Yes

Hi and welcome. Sorry, I understood that you had colonoscopy. Well, obstipation will definitely affect bowel function and it may lead to irritation, bloating and pain. Also, volon wall may become inflammed due to diverticula or bacterial infection. You should treat obstipation with natural methods and avoid excessive use of laxatives. Anti-inflammatory medicines may help such as ibuprofen but these may irritate stomach so take antiacid medicines such as pantoprasol as well. If there is no improvement you should do work up to rule out irritable bowel sindrome or diverticula.

I do agree with natural methods but after 3 courses of antibiotics in 6 weeks it’s a little tough to get back on track and the meds going with post ablation don’t help. That is certainly my goal.
Brief Answer:
Those medications are risk factors
Detailed Answer:
Yes, those medications for heart affect bowel function as well as antibiotics which disturb normal bowel bacterial flora, this is why you should take probiotics. I don't think that there is some serious issue, but if bleeding in stool occur or there is no stool for 2,3 days, then you should see doctor sooner.
