Question : I was diganosed with chornic constipation about 10 weeks ago no cause found other than possibly menopause. I was told to take two sachets of Laxido a day and had been doing this and had been having about 2 big bouts of diarrhea a day for about a month. Contacted GP who advised me to cut down dosageto 1 XXXXXXX per day which I did about 10 days ago at the start did have large bowel movements of solid pieces now although solid pieces very small bowel movments over the last 2 days. Can this happen. I did have a colonscopy in May for other GI Issues everything fine. Did have a CT Scan of tummy and pelvic area about 3 weeks ago and everything fine.

Hi there,

Laxido contains Macrogol.
It absorbs water swells up and hence increase bulk of stool and relieves constipation.
This is the main mechanism of action of Laxido.
Now as you have reduced the quantity of Macrogol you are having;Bulk formed by stool has decreased.
Nothing wrong with body it's just because of the dose cut down.
