Question : I was hospitalized for dehydration and was told I have possibly AKI or Chronic Kidney Disease. I take klonpin for my social anxiety. Is that safe to continue taking?
Brief Answer:
You may need a lower dosage of klonopin.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to ask a doctor's service .
I read your query and here is my advice.
If you are suffering from AKI or chronic kidney failure the filtration is impaired and this can cause a slower removal of the medication from body.
It can cause increased concentration of klonopin in blood and can make it stay longer in your system. So you will be having its effects for longer or can have increased effects of klonopin.
I think you can take klonopin in a lower dosage if not stop it at all.
Hope I have answered the question.
