Brief Answer:
Watch for other symptoms.....

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, you have diagnosed with swimmers ear and started on ciprodex ear drops.

Mild pain may usually present in swimmers ear, so no matter of concern and for that you can take tablet Ibuprofen (motrin) 400 mg 8 hourly or sos. In case of itching you can take tablet loratidine 10 mg once a day. These medications should be available over the counter.

Along with that do steam inhalation twice a day and valsalva maneuver. Ear drops should be used for 10 to 14 days. Heat compression may help to relieve pain.

Kindly watch for symptoms like fever, severe pain, excessive ear discharge or pus then consult with treating ENT surgeon. Maintain proper hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale

With proper prescription ear drops it usually cures within 10 to 14 days. So you can wait and continue ear drops for 10 to 14 days. In between kindly watch for other symptoms as explained earlier.

Please find you tube link for valsalva maneuver, it will help you to relieve clogged ears.
