Question : I would like help interpreting results from a recent anal pap/biopsy. Specifically, what does "a glandular component is present"? Is this normal, a matter of concern?
Brief Answer:
Pap anal biopsy is normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
In an anal pap biopsy an ' anal glandular component is present' is considered normal finding.
Since your biopsy doesn't show HPV present or dysplasia present this result is considered normal.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
