Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Is this the first time you have had heavy period? First get a pregnancy test done to rule out pregnancy.
Then consult Gynecologist, for internal examination and ultrasound. She will also prescribe you medicines after examination.
Best wishes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
If the pregnancy test was done earlier this week, you need to repeat it again today.
You see your doctor today so that you get prescription to reduce the bleeding.
It is better to do ultrasound scan after the bleeding reduces. But sometimes if the bleeding is too heavy, one may need to do the scan, even when there is bleeding.
Ultrasound scan procedure is a painless procedure. The doctor introduces the thin probe covered with latex sheath and gel into the vagina to visualise the uterus and ovaries. This is called as transvaginal scan. It takes about 15 minutes for the procedure. There is no preparation required for this procedure.
Best wishes.

                                    Good Evening Doctor,
I know that I am not pregnant, did a at home pregnancy test earlier this week. Yes this is the first time that I have had a period this heavy. It is so heavy, I took a shower and I was dripping blood, never have had this before. My husband and I had sex this morning before I started my period, I don't think that had anything to do with this. we have had sex right before my previous periods and sex during my period and never had this. Doctor I have never had a ultrasound before what is this procedure? Should I wait until I am done with this period before I see my doctor?
Thank you for helping me with this.
Sincerely, XXXXXXX
